In the portrait from the “Lao in Light” series, Lao’s serene and introspective expression is beautifully captured against a dark, minimalist background. The soft lighting skillfully highlights the delicate features of her face and the natural flow of her hair, creating a sense of calm and elegance.
As Dorothea Lange once observed, “The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.” This shot embodies that sentiment, capturing an intimate connection between Lao and myself as the photographer. The use of light and shadow here reflects my intention to reveal the depth and quiet strength within Lao, inviting viewers to delve deeper into the story behind her gaze.

Pause photographique — reprendre souffle, clarifier le cadre
Je suis un photographe amateur qui collabore par plaisir, sans plateforme ni activité commerciale. Mon été 2025 a été intense, riche en rencontres et en séances. Trop riche, peut-être. Au sortir de la saison, j’ai frôlé le burnout photographique. Résultat : plusieurs shootings en attente de traitement, des délais dépassés, et une pression qui bride l’élan créatif au lieu de le nourrir.
