In this black-and-white portrait from the “Lao in Light” series, Lao stands confidently against a simple, dark backdrop. The monochromatic palette enhances the contrast between her light hair and dark outfit, emphasizing her poised expression and the elegant lines of her attire.
As Robert Frank said, “There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.” Through this image, I aimed to capture Lao’s grace and presence, using light and shadow to highlight her natural beauty and the quiet strength she exudes.
